Emmys 2025: Britt Lower Wins First Career Emmy for Severance Season 2

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Britt Lower won the Emmy Award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in Season 2 of Severance.

She triumphed in a category that included Kathy Bates (Matlock), Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters), Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us), and Keri Russell (The Diplomat). This marks her first Emmy win.

An emotional Lower said on stage that competing alongside such actresses was an honor: “I share this award with the cast and my hero actors, whose work has inspired me… Thank you to my parents, my brother, my husband, our children, those who helped with childcare, our chosen family—I love you!”

Lower was the second Severance cast member to win an Emmy that night. Earlier, Tramell Tillman won Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, becoming the first African-American male actor ever to win in that category.

Severance first premiered on Apple TV+ in 2022 to critical and audience acclaim. Fans, however, had to wait three years for Season 2. With 27 nominations, the series led all shows at this year’s Emmys. Prior to the Primetime ceremony, it had already claimed six Creative Arts Emmy Awards the previous weekend.
