Emmys 2025: 15-Year-Old Owen Cooper Becomes Youngest Male Emmy Winner in History with Adolescence

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Owen Cooper made history Sunday night, becoming the youngest male actor ever to win an Emmy at age 15. The British actor earned the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for Netflix’s hit show Adolescence.

Cooper competed in the category against his co-star Ashley Walters, Javier Bardem (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), Bill Camp and Peter Sarsgaard (Presumed Innocent), and Rob Delaney (Dying for Sex).

Taking the stage, the young actor said: “Standing here feels so surreal. Honestly, when I started acting classes a few years ago, I never expected even to come to America, let alone stand on this stage. But I think tonight proves that if you listen, focus, and embrace taking risks, you can achieve anything you want in life. Three years ago I was nobody, and now I’m here.”

Cooper has recently joined the BBC drama series Film Club and will play young Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights, directed by Emerald Fennell.
