Critics Choice Awards 2026: “One Battle After Another” Named Best Picture; “Sinners” and “Frankenstein” Dominate Technical Categories

According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, the 31st Annual Critics Choice Awards, hosted by Chelsea Handler, concluded on Sunday night, January 4, 2026, with One Battle After Another taking home the prestigious Best Picture award. Paul Thomas Anderson secured the Best Director trophy for the same film, while Jessie Buckley was honored as Best Actress for Hamnet. Timothée Chalamet made history by winning his first-ever Critics Choice Award for Best Actor for his performance in Marty Supreme.
Sinners and Frankenstein emerged as the most-awarded films of the evening, each securing four trophies. Frankenstein dominated the supporting and technical categories, winning Best Supporting Actor (Jacob Elordi), Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Sinners triumphed in Best Score, Best Original Screenplay, Best Acting Ensemble, and Best Young Actor (Miles Catten).
In the television categories, Netflix’s Adolescence was named Best Limited Series, with Owen Cooper taking home the award for Best Actor in a Limited Series.
