Cillian Murphy’s DJ Set at a Cork Music Festival

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Cillian Murphy surprised the audience at a music festival in Ireland (SFSH) with a DJ performance. The Oppenheimer and Peaky Blinders star has been playing music since his youth. His former guitar teacher recently recalled that his teenage band, The Sons of Mr Green Genes—named after a Frank Zappa track—used to play in the style of U2 and Fontaines D.C..
Murphy had been mentioned as one of the patrons of this Cork music festival, but on Saturday night he astonished the crowd by taking to the stage for a brief DJ set.
Murphy is currently on a press tour for Netflix’s drama Steve. His film The Immortal Man, a cinematic sequel to Peaky Blinders, is scheduled for release in late 2025 or early 2026. He recently denied rumors that he would play Lord Voldemort in the upcoming Harry Potter series, and in another interview admitted he felt “relieved” not to be appearing in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, since watching himself on screen can be distracting.
Murphy had previously told Sunday Independent Life magazine: “The only extravagant aspect of my lifestyle is my stereo system, buying music, and going to concerts.”
Speaking about Radiohead to NME, he said: “In my opinion, they are the greatest band that became the biggest band in the world without ever trying to be. They might be my favorite band.”
