Black Mirror creator developing detective series for Netflix

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Charlie Brooker will continue his collaboration with Netflix after Black Mirror with a four-episode detective series. The untitled project is described as a “very serious crime thriller” that will be “staggeringly original.”
The story follows a detective from the northern town of Blakeford who travels to London to capture a serial killer before he claims more victims. The creator warns the series will contain “frowns and blood.”
Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon), Georgina Campbell (Barbarian), and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) will star in the leading roles. Campbell previously appeared in the Black Mirror episode “Hang the DJ.”
Brooker is the creator and co-writer of the series alongside Ben Caudell, Jason Hazeley, Armando Iannucci, Daniel Maier, and Joel Morris, with Victoria Asare-Archer also contributing to the scripts. Directing the series is Al Campbell, who previously worked with Brooker on Death to 2020.
This will not be Brooker’s first venture into crime drama. From 2012 to 2014, he created the police parody series A Touch of Cloth for Sky, starring John Hannah and Suranne Jones.
