Best Thing About Canada, According to Glenn Close: “Standing Up to You-Know-Who”

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Glenn Close, one of the stars of Wake Up Dead Man, written and directed by Rian Johnson, gave a humorous response to a question about Canada at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The 78-year-old actress appeared to be referring to Donald Trump, who once sought to pressure Canada with tariffs in an attempt to turn it into one of America’s states. When asked by Global News what she most appreciated about Canada, Close replied: “They stood up to you-know-who. I shouldn’t say that, but I’m going to anyway.”

Mila Kunis, Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Andrew Scott, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church join the cast of the third Knives Out film, in which detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig, attempts to solve his “most dangerous case” yet.

Craig said in Toronto: “Getting all these stars together in one film is literally the definition of ‘herding cats.’ Logistically it’s a nightmare, but [Johnson] pulled it together and was our leader.”

Close added: “I never imagined myself in one of the Knives Out films, and I was thrilled by the invitation. Then I heard who else was in it… we became such a great group and spent the whole shoot together. We laughed, we slept, we sang, and we got to know each other.”

The third Knives Out installment will have a limited theatrical release on November 26 before streaming on Netflix starting December 12.
