Artists Release Joint Video Message for “Together For Palestine” Campaign

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Billie Eilish, Cillian Murphy, Brian Cox, and several other celebrities have joined the “Together For Palestine” campaign by releasing a joint video message. The message comes just hours before a charity concert in London, which will be broadcast live.
The concert has been organized by British musician Brian Eno and will feature performances by Damon Albarn, Bastille, Cate Burns, Greentea Peng, Hot Chip, James Blake, and Jamie xx.
The video opens with statements from Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy and Joker actor Joaquin Phoenix, followed by appearances from Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters), Steve Coogan (Alan Partridge), Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, Ben Howard, Chris O’Dowd (The IT Crowd, Black Mirror), and Brian Cox (Succession), all expressing their support.
Cox declares: “We must tell the truth on behalf of the Palestinian people.” American photographer and activist Nan Goldin adds: “The role of the artist has always been to speak out, to take risks, and to shout the truth to power.”
English writer, poet, broadcaster, political columnist, and activist Michael Wayne Rosen states: “We know our leaders are complicit in the massacre of civilians in Gaza and the West Bank.”
Steve Coogan tells viewers: “It’s important to protest now—not when it’s all over. Right now, while it’s happening. Pressure your government, support those acting peacefully, call for a ceasefire, stop the killing.”
Proceeds from tonight’s Together For Palestine event—expected to be the UK’s largest Gaza charity concert—will be distributed among Palestinian aid organizations.
Billie Eilish and Joaquin Phoenix had previously described Israel’s attacks on Gaza as “horrific.”
