Apple TV+ announces release date for Season 2 of “Hijack”

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Apple TV+ has released a teaser confirming that Season 2 of the hit series “Hijack” will premiere on January 14, 2026. The new season will consist of eight episodes, airing weekly through February 25.
The first season introduced Sam, played by Idris Elba, a corporate negotiator whose seven-hour flight from Dubai to London is taken over by armed men. At first, Sam tries to reason with the terrorists—but soon discovers a much larger conspiracy at play.
In Season 2 of Hijack, a Berlin subway train and its passengers are taken hostage, as city officials race to save hundreds of lives.
Returning cast members include Archie Panjabi as the leader of an anti-terror task force, alongside Christine Adams, Max Beesley, Eve Myles, Neil Maskell, Jasper Britton, Harry Michell, Amy Kelly, and Ben Miles.
New cast additions for the second season include Christiane Nüthe (Ballon), Toby Jones (Mr Bates vs The Post Office), Clare-Hope Ashitey (Seven Pounds), Lisa Vicari (Django), Karima McAdams (Dune: Prophecy), and Christian Paul (FBI: International).
Created by George Kay (Lupin) and Jim Field Smith (Criminal), both of whom also serve as writers, directors, and executive producers alongside Elba, the series continues its tense, real-time storytelling approach.
Season 1 of Hijack ranked among the top 10 most-watched streaming shows in the United States, earning a 90% critics’ score and 51% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
