Apple Renews Foundation for Season 4

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Apple has greenlit a fourth season of the sci-fi series Foundation. The season three finale, written by David S. Goyer and starring Jared Harris, Lee Pace, and Lou Llobell, aired today, Friday, September 12.
Foundation follows a group of exiles who embark on a journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization after the fall of the Galactic Empire. Jared Harris, known for Chernobyl, plays Hari Seldon, a mathematician who predicts the empire’s collapse and takes radical measures to alter the future. Lee Pace portrays Brother Day, the emperor of the galaxy. Season three takes place 152 years after the events of season two, with two galactic powers reaching an uneasy truce as a warlord known as The Mule seeks dominion over the universe.
New cast members in season three included Emmy winner Cherry Jones, Branden P. Bell, Synnøve Karlsen, Cody Fern, Thomas Lemarquis, Alexander Siddig, Oscar winner Troy Kotsur, and Pilou Asbæk, joining returning stars Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann, and Rowena King.
It was previously announced that Ian Goldberg (Fear the Walking Dead) would serve as the new showrunner for season four. Season three faced budget-related challenges that ultimately led to Goyer’s departure. David Kob will also serve as showrunner and executive producer for the upcoming season.
The series is produced by Skydance Studios, now part of the relaunched Paramount Television.
