According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Disney’s Avatar: Fire and Ash defied concerns about a potential box-office disappointment and set multiple records in its first week of release. The third installment of James Cameron’s franchise, a film running over three hours, opened one week before Christmas, allowing its box-office run to extend through mid-January. Cameron currently holds the first, third, and fourth spots on the list of the highest-grossing films of all time with Avatar (2009) at $2.92 billion, Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) at $2.34 billion, and Titanic (1997) at $2.26 billion, making him the only filmmaker with three films among the all-time top earners.

The third Avatar film grossed $345 million worldwide in its opening week and is rapidly approaching the $500 million mark.
