Alex Duong, Comedian and “Blue Bloods” Actor, Dies at 42

According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, Alex Duong, stand-up comedian and television actor who appeared in the CBS drama Blue Bloods, passed away last Sunday at a hospital in Los Angeles. He was 42 years old.

Duong’s death was announced via a GoFundMe page, which had been established in February 2025 to help cover his medical expenses as he battled alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer that affected his vision.

A post on the GoFundMe page read:
“With the heaviest of hearts, we share that our beloved Alex passed peacefully this morning, surrounded by love and dear friends. He was comfortable and, fortunately, freed from pain. [His wife] Christina and [his daughter] Everest were able to see him last night, and he was alert enough to say goodbye to his young daughter, whose every moment since birth he had cherished. We are heartbroken but grateful for your support, prayers, and generosity during this unimaginable time. Your support is especially important now to help Christina and Everest navigate the days ahead and celebrate a beautiful life.”

In addition to Blue Bloods, Duong’s television credits included Everybody Hates Chris, Mad TV, Dexter, Interns Anonymous, Death Valley, and The Young and the Restless. His film work included Formosa Betrayed, Ghetto Physics, The Beyond, and Sideways for Attention.

Last August, Largo hosted the charity comedy show Alex Duong Has Cancer In His Eye, featuring comedians such as Ronny Chieng, Andrea Jin, and Atusko Okatsuka.

In a 2025 interview with the LA Times, Duong said:
“Comedians always support each other through hardships. We know how difficult it is to work, push, and stay standing in this lifestyle, just to deliver the jokes and get better. Seeing that in the world is truly beautiful.”
