Jeff Goldblum Tapped to Host Season 2 Premiere of “Saturday Night Live UK”

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, “Saturday Night Live UK” has secured “Jurassic Park” and “Wicked” star Jeff Goldblum as host for its Season 2 premiere. The show returns to Sky on September 12 with the acclaimed actor taking center stage.

Goldblum is no stranger to the franchise, having previously hosted the American NBC original twice, in 1993 and 1997. Joining Goldblum as the musical guest for the British version’s season opener will be Brit Award-nominated Irish singer-songwriter CMAT.

Sky has not yet revealed the remaining guest hosts for the season. Season 2 will run for six episodes before taking a hiatus and returning in early 2027. Host alumni from the first season include Tina Fey, Hannah Waddingham, and Nicola Coughlan.

The entire core ensemble cast—Hammed Animashaun, Ayodeji Bamtefa, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Enia Maliano, Annabel Marlow, Ellie Nash, Jack Shep, Ema Sidi, and Paddy Young—is set to return for the second season.

Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Philip Edgar-Jones, Sky’s Director of Unscripted Content, hinted that the UK adaptation of NBC’s iconic sketch and stand-up comedy series could extend well beyond its second season. “We are in this for the long haul, and we are proud of this project and its team,” Edgar-Jones stated, adding that he was thrilled to prove online doubters wrong.

“Saturday Night Live UK” is produced by Universal International Studios’ Universal Alternative Digital division alongside Broadway Video. Lorne Michaels serves as executive producer, with James Longman acting as showrunner.
