Valentina, ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Star, Set to Join Broadway’s ‘The Rocky Horror Show’

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Valentina, the acclaimed performer and star of RuPaul’s Drag Race and Rent: Live, is set to make her Broadway debut by joining the cast of the revival production of Richard O’Brien’s iconic musical The Rocky Horror Show.
In this new revival directed by Sam Pinkleton, Valentina will take on the role of “Columbia,” succeeding Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, who previously departed the project in June. Expressing her excitement over the announcement, the performer called her casting a milestone in her career, marking her status as the first Mexican-American trans woman to play a principal role in this historic production.
Staged at Broadway’s Studio 54 theatre, the new production features a star-studded cast including Luke Evans, Rachel Dratch, Andrew Durand, Harvey Guillén, Stephanie Hsu, Josh Rivera, and Sherie Rene Scott. The musical, which earned nine Tony Award nominations this year, stands as one of the current Broadway season’s most successful and top-grossing shows.
