The first behind-the-scenes images of Bill Skarsgård and Nicolas Cage in Lords of War

According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, Nicolas Cage and Bill Skarsgård were spotted in recent days filming the sequel to Lord of War in Belgium. Andrew Niccol, the writer and director of the first installment, has returned for this sequel, which is titled Lords of War.

Cage will reprise his role as arms dealer Yuri Orlov in the second film, and Bill Skarsgård, known for It, will play his son, Anton. Anton assembles a group of mercenaries to fight against U.S. intervention in the Middle East—an action that puts father and son on opposing sides.

Niccol is best known for his screenplay for Jim Carrey’s The Truman Show, which earned him an Academy Award nomination. His credits also include Anon, starring Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried, and The Host, starring Saoirse Ronan.

Cage won an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas and was nominated again for Adaptation. He has recently appeared in The Carpenter’s Son and Longlegs, and will be featured in Spider-Noir on Prime Video. Skarsgård recently starred in the HBO Max series It: Welcome to Derry and the theatrical release Dead Man’s Wire.
