Filming Resumes on Spider-Man: Brand New Day with Tom Holland and Sadie Sink

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, production on Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has resumed after a brief hiatus caused by Tom Holland’s injury. The Daily Mail confirmed the continuation of filming this Sunday by publishing new on-set photos featuring Holland and Sadie Sink, star of Stranger Things.

One photo shows a cratered street and a nearby fire truck, suggesting an intense action sequence. Details about Sink’s character, seen on set for the first time, remain under wraps — but insiders say her role is expected to be pivotal to the story.

Fans have been speculating widely about her part, with some believing she could portray Jean Grey, the red-haired mutant hero from X-Men. Others suggest she might appear as Mary Jane Watson or Gwen Stacy, while a few theories point to Firestar, a character first introduced in 1981.

The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Michael Mando as Scorpion, Tramell Tillman, and Melanie Scrofano.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the fourth Spider-Man film starring Holland in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The script is penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

The movie will be released a few months after the Russo Brothers’ Avengers: Doomsday, featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. The previous installment, Spider-Man: No Way Home, grossed nearly $2 billion worldwide.

Sony Pictures has scheduled Spider-Man: Brand New Day for release on July 31, 2026.
