Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Get Engaged
According to CinemaDrame News Agency, pop star Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce are engaged. Swift confirmed the engagement on Tuesday via Instagram.
Sharing photos of herself and Kelce in a flower-filled garden, Swift wrote: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” The post received more than 2.5 million likes within twenty minutes and 14 million likes within two hours.
Swift and Kelce have been together for two years, having first met after Swift’s concert at Arrowhead Stadium, home of Kelce’s team. Kelce, however, first expressed his admiration for Swift back in 2016.
The National Football League (NFL) quickly released a congratulatory message on X: “Congratulations to Travis and Taylor.”
The National Hockey League (NHL) also sent its congratulations in a separate message: “It’s a love story, and Taylor said yes.”
Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, reposted Swift’s announcement on Instagram.
Donald Trump, who previously claimed that Swift had “lost her appeal,” reacted to the engagement by saying: “I wish them tremendous success. [Kelce] is a great player and I think a good man, and I think [Swift] is a terrific person, so I wish them well.”
Last year, after Swift voiced support for Kamala Harris, Trump had written on Truth Social: “I hate Taylor Swift.”
