Superman Breaks Barbie’s Record on Letterboxd: Enters “2 Million Watched Club” in 45 Days

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Superman, written and directed by James Gunn, has broken Barbie’s record on the social platform Letterboxd. The platform’s official page on X announced that Superman entered the “2 Million Watched Club” after just 45 days, surpassing Barbie’s 104-day record.
Gunn’s film had already broken other records, including becoming the highest-grossing Superman movie in U.S. history, overtaking Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. After 45 days in theaters, the film was released on digital platforms, while Greta Gerwig’s Barbie had stayed in cinemas for 53 days before going digital.
The cast of Superman includes David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as the supervillain Lex Luthor, Anthony Carrigan (Barry) as the DC archaeologist Metamorpho, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Wendell Pierce as Perry White of the Daily Planet, and Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern.
Another 2025 release to cross the 2 million mark on Letterboxd is Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, a vampire film starring Michael B. Jordan, which has now been watched by over 2.53 million Letterboxd members.
At the global box office, Barbie grossed over $1.4 billion, while Superman has earned more than $597 million worldwide.
