2026 Emmy Predictions; Fierce Competition Ignites as Nomination Voting Begins
According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, Clayton Davis, the Senior Awards Editor at Variety, has officially updated his predictions across 57 major categories to coincide with the formal opening of the Emmy nomination voting period, which runs from June 11 to June 22. According to statistics released by the Television Academy, this year’s race features 555 submissions in the program categories and 1,573 contenders in the acting categories, reflecting a nearly 8% decrease compared to last year. Among the contenders, The Boys and Saturday Night Live (SNL) dominate the acting ballots, with each submitting 28 performances for consideration.
The final nominations will be announced on July 8, and the main Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony will broadcast live on NBC on September 14. Below are Variety’s predicted nominees for the most major categories, with the ultimate frontrunner to win marked by asterisks (***):
